Arkema-Daikin jv begins production at hydrofluoro- carbon plant in China

The joint venture of French chemical group, Arkema and Japan's air-conditioning major, Diakin have started up a world-scale hydrofluorocarbon-125 (HFC-125) production plant at its Changshu site in China. The joint venture, Arkema Daikin Advanced Fluoro-chemicals Co. Ltd. (ADAF) is owned 60% by Arkema and 40% by Daikin. HFC-125, with HFC-32, is an essential component in new-generation refrigerant blends such as 'R-410A' which re-, places HCFC-22.
