Safeguard duty investigation initiated on caustic soda imports

The Directorate General of Safeguards has announced that it has initiated a Safeguard Duty investigation related to the import of caustic soda into India. The investigation has been initiated after the New Delhi-based Alkali Manufacturers' Associa- tion of India (AMAI) petitioned the authority to impose Safeguard Duty on the imports of the product into the country.
