Steam reduction for reboiler of benzene distillation tower

摘要

Kawasaki Steel Corp. has been produced benzene, toluene and xylenes from GLO (Gaseous Light Oil) and TCG (Thermal Cracking gasoline) at Chiba plant of Chemical Division since 1982. The reboiler of benzene tower consumes a large amount of steam for heating. In this paper, it is reported that the usage of steam was reduced from operational analysis and a simple distillation calculation.
