For the first time by calculated and experimentalway the thermal strength of disk specimens is investigated atcombined thermal and force loading. It is shown that at coolingof a lateral surface of specimen, loading the bending stresses bymagnitude of 20% from a level of maximum thermal stressessuffices for full specimen fragmentation. The path of avalanchecrack propagation to specimen edge bends around the zone ofcompression and almost perpendicular to initial direction of the crack. .
