Formation of a gradient structure in a high-pressure apparatus for diamond synthesis

Considerable tensile stresses which arise on the working surface of a carbide die during its operation are responsible for premature failure of a high-pressure apparatus (HPA). The efficient method for increasing the die service life is the development of gradient structures in its bulk. Gradient structures allow an increase in the tensile strength of cemented carbide in given areas of the die as well as an optimization of its elastoplastic stress-strain state.
