Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Phobias in pets are commonly assumed to be associated with specific stimuli, such as thunderstorms, loud noises, strangers, separation from an owner, or the outdoors. However, some dogs and cats chronically exhibit signs of anxiety regardless of theirsituation. While demonstrations of fear may intensify when these animals are exposed to certain situations or stimuli, such pets are rarely or never truly relaxed and calm. These pets may have generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).
