摘要

Designing of alloy electrocatalysts by adatom method for the oxidation of CH_3OH and CO, and that by sputtering method for the CO tolerant H_2 oxidation and the O_2 reduction are discussed, based on the author's works together with the corresponding works by the other researchers. Problems such as so-called "particle size effect" or the corrosion of nanoparticle catalysts supported on carbon black are also discussed because they are very much important for the cell performance and lifetime and the final cost in practical fuel cell applications.
