Software architecture of SMS-IS (service management system for information sharing and its performance evaluation)

Convergence of Internet Protocol (IP) networks and Intelligent Network (IN) is expected to provide new telecommunication services called the IP-IN convergence services. To provide service management functions for the IP-IN convergence services, we present new system called Service Management System for Information Sharing (SM S-IS). This paper presents characteristics of the SMS-IS. This paper also discusses implementing these characteristics by means of Java2 Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE), extensible Markup Language (XML) and Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA). These technologies are effective to realize IP-IN convergence services more economically and quickly. Lastly, this paper shows SMS-IS's performance evaluation as a result of trial manufacture.
