摘要

For modeling a shape of object which has no specification, we make the shape model from it's volume data. We take polyhedral shape modeling as our model method in this paper, because the polyhedral shape modeling is expected to get the object's shape information efficiently which will be used to recognize the objects and so on. The polyhedrization algorithm is used for polyhedral shape modeling and it is well known that there are open problems for the algorithm. In this paper, we define "flatness" for each point in volume data to solve the problems. We also present the calculation algorithm of flatness and polyhedrization using our flatness.
