摘要

There is the trade-off relation between the mode count and core density in the few-mode multi-core fiber (FM-MCF). To maximize the spatial and modal channels density in the FM-MCF, it is necessary to design mode count in a core and distance between cores appropriately. In this study, to clarify the design criterion for FM-MCF which can realize the Eb/s class transmission using 3M technology, the core multiplicity for the increase of mode count is investigated. As a result, it is shown that P-RCMF of greater than 100 can be realized using 6th order LP modes. Then, some design criterion is shown from the viewpoint of power density in the core.
