We newly propose a simple wavelength demultiplexer for optical-frequency-interleaved dense wavelength division multiplexed (DWDM) radio-over-fiber (RoF) systems, which consists of only an optical coupler and a 2xN arrayed waveguide grating. The demultiplexing and transmission performance of twelve-channel 60-GHz-band DWDM RoF signals with 25-GHz channel spacing over 25-km plus 2-km standard single-mode fibers via the proposed demultiplexer is demonstrated. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first time that the error-free simultaneous transmission of 12-channel mm-wave-band RoF signals is demonstrated.
