Multiplex transmission for gigabit Ethernet and real-time signals on optical access network

摘要

In this paper, we propose an optical access network system that uses subcarrier multiplexing transmission to support both Gigabit Ethernet and stream signals easily and at low cost, and describe a new subcarrier multiplexing technique, we call it the baseband and modified subcarrier multiplexing (BMSM) scheme, with its principal and results of the fundamental experiment. Moreover, we introduce the development of a network interface card for PCs that hosts the proposed multiplexing function, and demonstrate its transmission characteristics.
