Braid wires are flexible and vibration-proof, and used widely for connecting various electrical equipments including battery earth wire and various electrical equipments. Braid wire end is usually connected using a solder or pressure connection terminal, and connected to the equipment by fixing bolts. Direct machining of terminal part of flat braided wire using a 20 kHz ultrasonic complex vibration is studied and rigid terminals are obtained. Using complex vibration of elliptical locus, the terminal part obtained was 0.8 mm thickness and all thin wires (4068 or 6112 thin copper wires of 0.05 mm diameter) were completely joined to a flat copper plate shape using vibration amplitude of 16 μm. Any braid structure was not observed in the specimen welded using an ultrasonic complex vibration welding equipment. Using complex vibration of elliptical locus, the terminal part obtained was 0.8 mm thickness and all thin wires were completely joined to a flat copper plate shape using vibration amplitude of 16 urn (peak-to-zero value). Any braid structure was not observed in the specimen welded using an ultrasonic complex vibration welding equipment. Using conventional linear vibration system, rigid terminals could not obtained.
