A long term strategy of technology development in Japanese oil and gas exploration and production industry:technology development till the year 2030

In accordance iwht the governmental decision to develop the national strategy of technology development of reinforced industrial competitiveness, Japan National Oil Corporation studied on a long term strategy of technology development in Japanese oil and gas exploration and production industry for the coming 30 years. The study was conducted by setting up a committee composed of experts from the academy and indstry, and the results were compiled in a report. In the study report the current status of he Japanese industry isreviewed in comparison with foreign industry, and then technical issues to the pursued by Japanese industry in association with academ and government are discussed for increased competitiveness. This paper presents the essence of the report focusing on the technical issues.
