Measurement of Biaxial Elongational Viscosity of Polymer Melts Using Lubricated Squeezing Flow Method

Biaxial elongational rheometer using lubricatedsqueezing method has been installed. To start up the rheometerand to obtain reproducible and reliable data, the effects ofexperimental conditions on biaxial elongational viscosity datawere investigated. Constant area method was preferable ratherthan constant volume method. It was concluded that the effects ofthe viscosity of silicone oil and the shape were neglisible whenmethod of constant area was employed.
