Flow-injection determination of timanium(IV) with sorption preconcentration

A procedure for the determination of titanium trace amounts with ion-exchange preconcentration on the Amberlite CG-400 ion-exchanger in the flow-injection mode from solutions containing 1 mol/L HCl and 0.3 mol/L SCN~- was developed. A 1-2 M HCl solution was used as an eluent. The flow rate was 0.3-1.2 mL/min at the stage of preconcentration and 0.3--0.7 mL/min at the stage of elution. The detection limit of titanium using the reaction with 4,4'-diantipyrylmethane and SCN- was 1 x 10~(-8) mol/L.
