摘要

The corrosion of magnesia refractory brick was evaluated by crucible corrosion test at 1550 deg C, using calcium aluminosilicate slag. The corrosion behavior of MgO grains during slag penetration was investigated by microstructural analysis of magnesia refractory brick after the corrosion test. The mechanism of corrosion of MgO grains was discussed in terms of the pertinent phase diagrams. It was concluded that MgO grains dissolved into slag indirectly and the spinel phase formed at the interface between magnesia refractory brick and the slag dissolved directly into the newly penetrating slag.
