Twenty-five years ago

The Journal continued to publish a wide range of subjects of interest to various branches of the profession. In this issue was a paper by K P Duguid (Aberdeen), J Dixey and D A Brewerton (Department of Rheumatology,Westminster Hospital, London) on 'Fluorescein arthroscopy - an assessment of the technique', which discussed photography of the blood supply in the synovial membrane of the knees of rheumatoid arthritic patients and a paper by Shamus K Reddin (Peterborough) on 'The photography of stillborn children and neonatal deaths'. Consideration of the rationale and intended use of the photographs led to a streamlined and professional procedure providing patients with a photograph of the dead infant as part of the sensitive and personal counselling service to people in a great deal of distress.
