What is a safety interlock;is it some sort of locking device,a barrier,an interrupter,a hazard mitigator or something else entirely? Is there such a thing as an interlock safety analysis? The term "interlock" is used considerably in the system safety discipline,yet its exact definition and usage are often misconstrued.In addition,with the development of more complex systems,the term has evolved in meaning and usage since its beginning.
