Aerodynamic aspects of exhaust ventilation

An aerodynamics study of the captor hood was themain objective of this research which was based on the followingtests: (1) to compare the predicted center-line velocities using theexisting formulae given by various researchers with oneexperimentally determined; (2) to compare the numericallyobtained velocities with the practically observed one; (3) to testdifferent aerodynamically shaped hoods for the role of theirshapes, sizes and the flange on the gradient of center-linevelocities; (4) to test a new concept of velocity potential field; (5)to treat the experimental data using the existing empiricalformulae as a model and to derive the modified empirical formulae.
