摘要

This paper deals with the comparative quality and performance analysis of the machine tap at different cutting condition as per the model, designed according to factorial design method. Experiments are performed using two machine taps of different make, possessing the same specifications. Selected values of controlling parameters (cutting speed, viscosity of lubricant, time period) at each set of experiment show their significant Effect after regression analysis and is concluded along with the response parameters' (frequency response and geometrical parameters) analysis. Hardness values measured for the tap at different locations and the geometrical parameters verified at the machined portion using solid lubricant, as obtained from each tool support the conclusions drawn by the frequency response analysis.
