摘要

Corrosion is defined as a gradual wearing away or alteration by a chemical or electrochemical oxidizing process.The process returns the metal to its most stable state.Usually,steel corrodes in presence of water and oxygen;and does not take place in the absence of either of these.Rapid corrosion may take place in water and the rate of corrosion accelerated by acidity of the water~(SHR).As late as 1955,one could not find a systematic study of the atmospheric corrosion of concrete reinforcements.It was generally believed that the concrete satisfactorily protects the reinforcements,because of its alkalinity.On the other hand,reinforced concrete was not used enough for the appearance of the consequences of concrete cracking in large scale.
