I have had several friends ask me over the past few weeks, "What is going to be your agenda while you are chairman?" They are asking an honest question out of interest and out of concern for our specialty. In this world of video clips and abbreviated sound bites, I suspect that at times, they expect a voice clip saying "a chicken in every pot" or "a car in every garage." We all have time pressure. Increasingly, everyone is looking for the short answer. We all look for something we can visualize in terms of "here is the problem, and here is how to fix it," or we state a grand and laudable goal to which we can all aspire for the future.
