An experiment on the effect of fertilizer levels in pigeonpea based intercropping systems was conducted to find out total nutrient removal and the net change in the soil fertility. Pigeonpea + groundnut intercropping system at recommended dose (RD) offertilizer applied to pigeonpea and 50 per cent RD to groundnut recorded highest nutrient removal (508.9 kg/ha). Nutrient balance of N, P and K in the soil after harvest of crops was highest at recommended dose of fertilizer applied to pigeonpea and groundnut.
