摘要

In BOF specific hot metal temperature and carbon content is required. After first turn down (FTD) higher temperature is reduced by delayed tapping or adding a coolant and lower temperature is increased by blowing oxygen at FTD. In present study, operational data of two separate converters having 300 tons capacity of Bokaro Steel Plant are used to develop the equations. Those equations correlate the independent variables like time of holding, amount of lime and amount of oxygen during reblowing with temperature. It has also been shown that the effect of lining life is negligible in predicting the temperature by holding the vessel. The equations developed have been used to predict the endpoint temperature and endpoint carbon.
