Dr. Barbara Resn-ick is currently a Professor in the Department of Organizational Systems and Adult Health at the University of Maryland School of Nursing and holds the Sonay Ziporkin Gershowitz Chair in Gerontology. She has earned numerous awards for leadership and excellence in research, scholarship, and clinical work. She is a Fellow in the Ge-rontological Society of America, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the American Academy of Nursing. Dr. Resnick is a prolific writer and is currently the editor of Geriatric Nursing. Her research focus has been on motivating older adults to engage in functional and physical activity and healthy behaviors across all levels of care.
