I congratulate Day et al. for reporting the outcomes of cataract surgery in microphthalmos and for their robust data analysis. They included eyes with an axial length (AL) less than 21.0 mm instead of 20.9 nun, a value that corresponds to an AL short-er than average by 2 standard deviations. ' This minimal 0.10 mm would reduce the sample size of the present study by nearly 25% and, therefore, might affect the outcome analysis. Are the results maintained when eyes with ALs longer than 20.9 mm are excluded?
