Quality of Life Tools and Young Adult Survivors of Pediatric Cancer: A Commentary on the Need to Examine Perceptions of Romantic Relationships

THE RISING POPULATION OF YOUNG ADULT Survivors of pediatric cancer (YASPC) is becoming an increasingly mobile and active community. Although childhood cancer rates have increased over the past several decades1 and cancer remains the second leading cause of death in children under 15 in the United States,2 the emergence of targeted therapies and new technologies has helped to dramatically improve pediatric cancer survival rates, with over 80% of children surviving many types of cancer.1 The supportive care needs of childhood cancer survivors are important to identify, though the psychosocial impact of survivorship has not been given as much attention in the literature compared to clinical issues.
