The Benefits of Certification

Certification derives in its distant past from the same Latin root as the word certain. As such, it shares a meaning with the word certain, a meaning that incorporates the concepts of determined and fixed; and it points to predictability. A certification is a shorthand designation for the standardized body of knowledge and expertise that the certified individual or entity possesses. To earn a certification, a business or an individual must go through a formal process. Evaluation in some form is always in the offing because certification must be merited.
