In rapid-fire succession, Egypt inaugurated three liquefaction trains in 2005, the first one at SEGAS near Damietta and then two at Egyptian LNG at Idku. See photo in Figure 1. The country went from zero to 12.2 million metric tons of annual capacity in the span of nine months.
