ExxonMobil, BP and ConocoPhillips are mulling over an LNG export project in the Cook Inlet or Prince William Sound areas, the Alaska Dispatch reported Jan. 2. The state's governor, Sean Parnell, has expressed interest in changing how the state markets its gas, especially some 45 tcf trapped on the North Slope. He now supports LNG exports to Asia. Three possible sites for a liquefaction and export plant have been discussed since the 1960s: Valdez, Cook. Inlet and Prudhoe Bay.
