While Israel considers its newly found bounty, a report prepared for Lebanon by the World Bankstates that LNG might help Lebanon's energy sector, reduc ing power generation costs. The eastMediterranean country suffers from high cost, petroleum fired electric power. While gas pipelinessupply northern Lebanon, the south is without access, leaving parts of the country to reach a "state ofcrisis." LNG combined with combined-cycle generation would increase supply of electric power, whilereducing genera-tion costs, the report concluded.
