DOWN ON THE DAIRY FARM

The untimely death of David Shead, since I wrote my last article, has cast a shadow over all who are engaged in our industry. His grasp of dairy politics was legend and his fair and balanced analysis of the problems of our industry hit the bullseye when many of our so-called experts were groping in the dark. His funeral, which was attended by very many friends and colleagues, was a celebration of his life and work which we were privileged to share with Annie and his family. May David rest in peace and rise in glory. In the run up to Christmas we are still enjoying, if that is the right word, the balmy moist airstream from the Gulf. Dark nights, fog in the morning, water everywhere and grass still growing apace.
