Process optimization through the integration of workflow management into production planning and control (PPC)systems

Nowadays there are some efforts to support the structuring of operations in manufacturing companies,to combine the work flow management and PPC systems. The aim is to find an all-embracingEDP-based solution. Before this background the following paper defines the realization of thisrequirement in standard PPC systems and finishes by presenting an approach towards improvedprocess optimization.
