Following a cautious return to optimism and the first signs of recovery in the construction sector a year ago, 2014 has been a strong year for the commercial landscape market. With construction projects on the up, particularly housebuilding, many growers have seen record years. Wet conditions in the winter and spring caused difficulties and meant that much of the activity was delayed, but this summer has seen a significant upturn for the industry.Despite a poor January and February, Majestic Trees is 15 per cent up on last year, which had been its best ever, managing director Steve McCurdy reports. "There is more confidence than a year ago and people are spending more," he says.
