This year, almost 30 firms will be exhibiting play equipment at Saltex. The revival of interest in the sector is largely due to financial changes.Concern about obesity and poor child health, has prompted public bodies to make play a priority. Last year, the Big Lottery Fund announced that over a three-year period, it would give out ￡ 155m to fund play. Other sources of money include regeneration schemes, European Union money and input from charities and private firms. Some of the money from Landfill Tax Credits is also being spent on play.
