After the problems that beset Hyde Park's Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain, organisers will be hoping the Queen Mother Memorial Garden at Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh (RBGE) beds in rather more smoothly. So far, the omens are good. The garden, constructed to a tight 12-month schedule, has come in on time and within its EUR525,000 budget, and should be looking its best when the Queen, together with the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, attend the official opening on 7 July.
