Succumbing to the marketing power of a good title, I picked up Miracles of life. Shanghai to Shepperton. An autobiography, thinking that I was going to read about someone who was born in the international setdement in Shanghai, maybe in the 1920s or 1930s, and then ended up here in Shepparton, Victoria.
