THE Fire Protection Association produces advice and training materials aimed at fire prevention. This DVD contains the fundamentals of a fire safety training programme, providing essential introductory and refresher material for the workforce at the sharp end of the hotel industry. The DVD is divided into five sections, and the first part is a nine-minute introduction detailing the safety procedures hotels should have and the actions staff should take in case of fire. It points out that guests perceive a hotel as "a safe and relaxing place where they can unwind, dine well, and obtain a good night's sleep", but fire can break out in even the best-run establishments and the hotelier or senior management have clear legal responsibilities to both the guests and the staff.
