Lithuania, Gazprom Going to Court

Gazprom and Lithuania have resorted to courts and arbitration panels, having lost patience with each other's stance on gas pricing, infrastructure ownership and the role of key Russians on the board of local utility Lietuvos Dujos. Earlier this year Lithuania enacted "full ownership unbundling" of its gas pipeline system, as opposed to the looser alternative "management unbundling" model also permitted under the European Union Third Energy Package, which became law in March.
