Thanks to the country's liquid and transparent gas market,the US benchmark gas price at Henry Hub in the gas producing region of Louisiana near Trunkline's Lake Charles receiving terminal has crystallized in recent years into the basis for US LNG prices and,increasingly,for spot and occasionally even longer-term LNG prices in the rest of the world(WGI Oct.5'05,p8).But use of this benchmark is not without change,and not without challengers.
