Integrated Research and Action for Development (IRADe) has been selected by US Agency for International Development (USAID) for the implementation of the South Asia Regional Initiative for Energy Integration/EI program (SARI/EI) which will work towards promoting the integration of energy systems and enhancing Cross-Border Energy Trade (CBET) among the participating South Asian countries during the five-year program period.IRADe in co-operation with USAID organized the regional conference on "Cross Border Electricity Trade" that was held on 4th-5th October, 2013 at New Delhi, India to launch the SARI/EI program and gain acceptance for the program's objectives among the South Asian countries. The Central Board of Irrigation and Power which is a Premier Institution, rendering dedicated services to professional organizations, engineers and individuals in the country and abroad for the last 85 years for dissemination of knowledge in the field of Power, Renewable Energy and Water Resources Sector, was chosen as the conference coordinator.
