Pentax may not have the most extensive range of DSLRs, but it has made a point of bringing advanced specifications down to cheaper models. The K-30 is further testament to this, with a 16MP sensor, weather-sealing and full HD video trickled down from the enthusiast-focused K-5 before it. Rather than adopting the Prime II image-processing engine as used within the K-5 II, the Pentax K-30 uses a Prime M image-processing engine that has been optimised for HD video capture, smooth live view, low image noise and low energy consumption.
