A pickling technology developed by UK-based EA Technology can remove scale from heat treated stainless steel significantly faster than conventional acid treatments, according to the company. The Enhanced Electrolytic Pickling process is also claimed to be faster and uses up to 75 percent less power when compared with existing electro-chemical methods.It removes scale and, where necessary, chrome depleted layers using a technique developed by EA Technology (patent pending) and is suitable for pickling stainless steel, nickel alloys, aluminium, titanium and other cor-rosion-resistant material, together with carbon, alloy and electrical steels.
