Tire casing inspection for retreading or repair has continued to change over the years, and if you are in the retread and tire business, you need to keep up with those changes. Not many years back, we hardly ever looked at the tire serial number, and if we did, it had little to do with retreading the tire. Today, we have to look at and record nearly every serial number. First, we look at the age. Then, we look to see if the customer has any restrictions on what they accept as retreadable.
