Safari Can

You need fresh water, even when you are in the bush because stream water is not always safe as it can be polluted by farm stock or feral animals. Recently, Gary Robertson sent me a 20-litre Safari Can before I joined Wayne Peacock and his Cape York'sUltimate Safaris at a bush camp, north of Pormpuraaw on the Cape's wild West Coast. It's a new concept for carrying portable drinking water. The container is made from UV-stabilised, medium density polyethylene, the same stuff they make water tanks with.It is also suitable for plastic welding. The entire lid is removable and sealed with a food-grade silicone seal for safety with bungee straps. There are also security straps on each corner. One or two straps can be released to allow airflow when required - or better pump pressure.
