Pop-up tents or mosquito shelters are not a new phenomena and I remember the odd one about in the 1980s though they never took off due to high cost and teething problems. I reviewed the Smart Shade Mossie Shelter some time back after using it widely on the Cape York Peninsula. The only problem with this shelter was the fine insect mesh allows dew and rain in. However, by overlaying an old tarp I kept myself dry. Recently, I got a couple of OzTrail camping aids for my birthday from my wife, includingan OzTrail ECO Switch-back 2 Pop-up insect shelter, in other words a two-person tent.
