The Author took part in the case new Zealand attempt on the world ploughing record and gives us the background on an attempt that came so very close to success - Pictures by white bus family productions, dave binning and Stephen caunter. The Kiwi attempt at the world record of 1,901 fell short by just 66. They are still crunching the numbers and are seeking to set records for the 'most horsepower in a paddock at one time' as well as the 'most tractors in a trek'. This has been set provisionally at 440. But the big one escaped us and for those of you who are familiar with the rivalry between New Zealand & Australia - it really hurts.
