2013 Outlook -for Canadian Rigs Tells Two Stories

The Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors is forecasting that Western Canada's well count in 2013 will not be as robust as it was in 2012 or 2011. The CAODC projects industry will drill 10,409 wells. This is approximately 6% below 2012 activity. These lower expectations stem from pressures on commodity pricing. In many ways, the industry continues to feel the effects of 2009.
