Estee Lauder-optimistic about 01: The Estee Lauder Companies expects earnings for its first fiscal quarter to be "significantly higher" than previously projected. Revised forecast is due to new product launches, strong growth in Asia and improvement in travel retail. Better-than-anticipated foreign currency translation and earlier holiday shipments also contributed. Firm plans to release its quarterly results Oct. 30.
